GameNest privacy

Updated 6 September 2026 ยท applies to the GameNest app and the rooms it connects to.

No accounts

GameNest has no sign-up. You pick a name and an avatar; both stay on your phone and are shown to the people in your rooms.

What a room sees

When you create or join a room, your name, avatar and a random player id go to our game server so the other players can see you and your moves. Room codes are random and expire when the room empties.

Chat and voice

Chat messages are relayed through our server to the players in your room and are discarded when the room closes. Voice chat is peer to peer between the phones in the room; it does not pass through or get recorded by our servers.

Notifications

If you turn on notifications, your device token is sent to our server only while you are in a room, so we can tell you it is your turn or that someone wrote in chat. It is dropped when you leave.

Error reports and feedback

If the app hits an error it sends a short technical report (the error text, app version, device model, iOS version, which game and room) so it can be fixed. Feedback you send from More โ†’ Send feedback goes to the same inbox, with the same details only if you leave the diagnostics box ticked. Neither contains your name, your messages or anyone else's.

Tips

Tips are one-time purchases handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. If you choose to leave your email on the thank-you screen it is used once to send you a personal note and is not added to any list.

What we do not do

No ads, no trackers, no analytics SDKs, no selling or sharing of data, no location, no contacts. Nothing is collected from children beyond the name and avatar they type themselves.

Stored on your phone

Your profile, settings, recent rooms, the people you have played with and your win tallies live only in the app. Deleting the app deletes them.
